There is no shortage of singles International Feel could have run with from Jose Padilla’s ‘So Many Colours’ album, but following the success of the Spring-released ‘Day One’, it made sense to look to another Telephones production ‘Lollipop’ as the next single.
‘Lollipop’ sounds like summer. The floating melody and rolling groove instantly putting you in that ‘Ibiza Summer state of mind’, perfectly complemented by new remixes from I:Cube and Dream2Science.
II:Cube, alongside Jose Padilla, is a legend in his own right and brings both sides of his style to the table for his remixes. On the tough side we have his I:Cube remix, a dancefloor version with a tough groove and melody torn up before being kicked out the other side. His Casiotone Reprise Mix takes the beautiful melodies of the original over a Casio-lite drum machine and turns it into a modern Balearic classic.
Dream2Science AKA Ben Cenac is held in high esteem by those in the know. Rush Hour recently re-released his self-titled EP to wide acclaim and his smooth deep production was the right fit for Padilla’s new sound. The results aren’t disappointing. Dream2Science is one of those with the gift and ability to keep it simple and let the melody shine.
