DJ Rocca, Ft. Dimitri From Paris – Stone Town (Nang Records)

Italian producer and musician DJ Rocca, also known as Luca Roccatagliati, makes his return to Nang Records with a new collaboration. This time, he teams up with acclaimed French producer Dimitri From Paris for the release of their new low-slung disco track, “Stone Town.”

DJ Rocca brings a wealth of experience to the project, having begun his production career in the late 1990s under the moniker Maffia Soundsystem, focusing on Drum & Bass and Breakbeats. His extensive resume includes collaborations with notable artists such as Howie B, Pressure Dro, and Zed Bias, with singles, remixes, and albums released on a diverse range of prominent European labels including Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Rotters Golf Club, Hell Yeah, Rebirth, and Hooji Choons.

Dimitri From Paris, born Dimitrios Yerasimos in Peckham, London, is a celebrated figure in the disco scene. His career spans decades, beginning with radio mixing before evolving into a renowned producer and DJ. More recently, he has been commissioned by high-end fashion designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, and Karl Lagerfeld to craft soundtracks for their runway shows, underscoring his reputation for distinction and a dedication to crafting impactful dance music.

The synergy between these two producers is evident in their new single, “Stone Town.” The track prominently features Dimitri From Paris’s signature 1970s funk influences, with the notable use of marimbas contributing to a distinct beach party ambiance.

The “Stone Town” single package is comprehensive, comprising five tracks: the original version, an extended mix, and three distinct remixes. One Era contributes a heavier, more electronic interpretation. Sofa Talk delivers a slower, more experimental house-infused remix. Concluding the package is a syncopation-heavy remix by Radius ETC.
