Tom Taylor and Gareth Whitehead

Tom Taylor and Gareth Whitehead are two of the rising stars of the European techno and house scene.Successful producers, dj’s and label heads in their own right, the duo are now collaborating on what looks like being one of the most exciting musical partnerships in recent times. Tom Taylor and his label 2Pin Records builds on the success he found as one half of 20:20 Vision signings The Electric Press. With a number of credible accolades under his belt including the hit, ‘Reevaluate’ on 2020 Vision (also featuring Tom on vocals) and remixes of Daft Punk, Kelis, Erykah Baduh, Armand Van Helden and DJ T…just to name a few, Tom is branching out now further to collaborate with Gareth.

Recent work has seen him release under the funk inspired guise ‘Celestial’ as well as deeper house moments under his own name supported by the likes of Steve Bug, Josh Wink & Ben Watt. Collaborations and remixes continue to flow, including production credits on Paul Woolford’s Depeche Mode remix and re-edits for Woolford’s We Love Ibiza Space residency. 2Pin was born in Leeds, a younger sibling to the likes of Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision stable, Utah Saints and the Back II Basics crew, with whom he shares strong creative bonds. Taylor’s vision for the label is to seek out originality, in market flooded with mediocrity: ”Music with soul and feeling. Music that tells a story. Look out for future productions & remixes coming soon on, Infiné (Francesco Tristano), Safari Numerique, 2Pin, 2020 Vision, Intimacy and more.

Head of Bulletdodge Records, Gareth Whitehead is a vastly experienced producer, remixer, DJ and artist that has established his own signature brand of deep and dubby tech-house and minimal. His tracks are defined by a crisp, clean production style that highlights his engineering background, yet retain the tasteful musicality and dynamic consideration of an individual that is a true music lover and artist. Gareth to date has released on labels such as Safari Numerique, Broque, Naked Lunch Records, Parallel 125, Dioxide, Cubism, FHD Records, Sleaze and his very own Bulletdodge Records and has seen support form the likes of Joris Voorn,Slam,Tony Rohr,Anja Schneider,Bryan Zentz,Electric Rescue,Jon Rundell,Alex D’elia, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Derrick May, Martin Landsky, Joey Beltram, James Ruskin plus many more.

After many years of underground success Gareth set up techno label Edit/Select with Soma legend Anthony Scott (Percy X) and was behind the first release Asperity which was an outstanding underground success of 2007. Also in 2007, Gareth set up his own label, Bulletdodge Records as an outlet for his increasingly prolific output, as well as creating a suitable platform from which a wealth of international talent could freely express itself. Tom and Gareth are showing a wealth of talent in their productions and and are about to take the music industry by storm with their eclectic and highly original output. Already the pair have appeared on Poker Flat, Compost, Kling Klong, Lost My Dog and Bulletdodge and have been remixed by Carl Cox, Dirt Crew and Burnski.

Show first aired in July 2012 on udancecn.com and boxfrequency.fm
